Seward *Renfros Lakeside Retreat* Summer 2016

This was our summer home in Alaska in 2016.  We arrived May 25 and pulled out for the last time September 27.  Renfros is located 20 miles north of Seward and 10 miles south of Moose Pass.  The RV park area has 10 sites, 2 of which are reserved for workampers.  Some have FHU’s and some only w/e, but there is a dump station right in there.  There is also grass, which most RV parks do not have.  The retreat also has 8 cabins, 5 are lakeside on Kenai Lake, the other 3 have wooded surroundings.

I am admittedly completely biased, as this was our home and work place for 4 months, but having said that, the reviews on TripAdvisor and other review websites all give Renfros a 5-star rating.  Gary is an awesome host and insists on high standards of cleanliness and maintenance of the whole place.  He can book your Kenai Fjords tours right from the lodge – and gives all his guests a discount.

The best part of Renfros is the views – be it of the mountains/glacier and/or of the beautiful Kenai Lake.  I could link every one of my summer posts here, showing the amazing views, but I will choose a few of my favorites.  first week at Renfros
