Arcadia *Arcadia Peace River Campground* Feb 2015

I choose this CG b/c it was very near where we would be attending a rally.  The rally was a boondocking rally and I didn’t want to have to drive far with a full tank (92 gallons) of fresh water.

When we arrived, they initially wanted to put us on a very small end site, which we didn’t like.  The roads are all dirt and there were people riding 4 wheelers and kicking up a bunch of dust, so being on the end was not a good idea.  The office ladies seemed a bit annoyed that we wanted a different spot, but they did allow us to move to what they call a “double” site.  They also offer triple and quad sites.  These sites are actually a great idea, as they are designed for people traveling/camping together.  There is one large patio, which is very nice – made with pavers, and then sites arranged around it, so that your door sides are all facing the patio.  We had our site all to ourselves, as the CG wasn’t that busy.

There was spotty wifi, and no cable, but we did get a few channels with the batwing.  The laundry was ok, could have been cleaner.  Water pressure and electric were all fine.

The CG was right on the Peace River and you can rent canoes or kayaks and go out on the river.  They also have a back area with 4X4 trails that people staying in the CG can use.  We saw wildlife on our walk through there.

The place is older and is in need of some serious TLC.  It isn’t bad, just a bit run-down.  I learned too late that there are other places nearby that were cheaper and nicer.  Oh well, live and learn as they say.

I doubt we would stay here again, so this place is a “Leave ‘Em”.
