Grit & Grace – Pittsburgh, PA

Grace – 1) simple elegance or refinement of movement; 2) free and unmerited favor of God.

My daughter’s BF, Derek, took Bill and I, along with Michelle, to this new Pittsburgh, PA restaurant during our visit in September 2014.  It was VERY good, I would actually say excellent!  Totally different than anywhere I had been before.  It won the award for Best New Restaurant in 2014 from Pittsburgh Magazine.

Here is their website:  gritandgracepgh.com

The items off their very unusual menu that we ordered were:  Pork Belly Bites, Beef Tartar (off the Dim Sum cart), Short Ribs, Seafood Sausage, Crispy Confit Chicken Wings, Braised Goat and Seared Hanger Steak.  I know that sounds like a lot of food, but the way they serve is family style and we all tried everything, and best part – it was all delicious!  We all had a drink or two, I had a Mai Tai and it was very good, and quite potent!  One was all I needed!  Bill tried two of their craft beers and he enjoyed both.  He likes darker beers as a rule.  We also shared 2 desserts, one was their Flourless Chocolate Cake, and I honestly forget the name of the other one, but both were very good, and after finishing all the dinner items, having just a bit of sweet is all that was needed.

It was pretty expensive, if you check out the menu, all prices are listed, so be prepared!

We would definitely go back, probably only for a special occasion.
