Bill and I found this place on FoodNetwork’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives page. We LOVE that show and Guy! He is so funny and I love the way he describes the food!
We also looked it up on TripAdvisor – and it received good reviews there also. We love using both these restaurant guides to find places to eat out – especially now that our budget for dining out has been shrunk down to reflect the change in our income status – ha!
We went for lunch during the middle of the week during slow season, so it wasn’t crowded, but wasn’t empty either. You could tell it is a local place, very casual and off the main road.
I had Coconut Fried Chicken with french fries. They served it with a lime curry sauce for dipping. The portion was perfect, and cooked perfectly. The chicken was tender and juicy and the fries were seasoned just right. The dipping sauce was a great compliment to the chicken and I liked it so much I used it for some of the fries also! I didn’t order a drink, just an ice water w/lemon, my standard lunch time beverage.
Bill had a Fried Flounder Sandwich, which was one of their specials. He also had fries. The fish came with some fancy tarter sauce that was very good. He also ordered a beer.
It was an enjoyable lunch and we agree with Guy and all the TripAdvisor reviews that the food is worth going in for! We paid $40.77 including the tip.
