Florida – work and play

Week two here at Clearwater Travel Resort started out with the new year right around the corner. We stayed in and didn’t do anything more exciting than watching the ball drop in Times Square. We must be getting old! NOT!

My Mom and I drove to see my sister one day, which was very nice. Coupons led us to a yummy lunch at the local Sweet Tomatoes. Back at Shannon’s place, dessert of homemade Eggnog Cheesecake was waiting for us! So good! We even got to take some home!

Bill & I took a bike ride up to Safety Harbor, with a stop at Crooked Thumb brewery. I tried something new called Kombucha, which is a fermented, slightly alcoholic, lightly effervescent, sweetened black or green tea. I know there are many brands and types of this beverage, but I didn’t really like this particular one. Bill really enjoys their IPA’s, and had his growler ready for filling.

The big event of the week was celebrating Bill’s birthday! I was very brave and agreed to go when he said he wanted to go out for a sunset sail. I was very nervous, but the wind was nice, no whitecaps on the water and we really enjoyed the time out on the water.

Was quite chilly – extra blankets were given out

The next night, we celebrated at home with my parents.

In between, Bill and David worked on an install.

The weather here has been very nice, sunny and warm during the day and just chilly enough for a jacket in the evenings.

    1. Bill says thanks! And yes – he does love being out on the water – here – and anywhere!

  1. So glad to see you’re having nice weather. How fun to enjoy a sunset sail – a great birthday treat. That cheesecake looks scrumptious!!

That first pic is very cool.

    1. Thanks Jodee! The features pic was taken from the sailboat as we passed under a bridge (in case it isn’t obvious) My sister makes the best cheesecakes!
