Avon (Outer Banks) *Sands of Time Campground* Oct 2014

We found this campground through Passport America.  Their rates are very reasonable even without the 5image0% off, but we sure loved paying only $24.50 per night for the Outer Banks.

This is a no-frills campground for sure.  No pool, a VERY small laundry (2 washers – only 1 was working during our stay), limited cable TV (it was free though) and “ok” wifi.  We didn’t use them, but I checked out the bathrooms, and they were dated, but clean.  The Verizon signal was very good, and we streamed some Walking Dead while we were there.

The outside areas were very well maintained and clean.  Some sites were big enough for big rigs, some were not.  The roads were paved and we got in/out with no issues, although corners were a bit tight.

It was very quiet and not even a mile from a very nice free public beach.  There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and a clean, modern Publix grocery store.

This place is a definite “Like ‘Em” and I am sure we will be back!
